Speeds measured by GPS on Florida's Sarasota Bay in calm conditions with six adults aboard and full fuel and water.
TAB TACTICS: When climbing onto plane in the mid-2000-rpm range, employ the trim tabs to keep the bow from rising so that it obstructs forward visibility. At 3000 rpm the running attitude is level with the trim tabs up.
STAND TALL: The full standing headroom inside the console and the generous amount of real estate at the dash for electronics are nice features. Unless you're taller than 5'9", you can't see the water ahead when seated. When leaning against the bolster, visibility is fine.
LEVERAGE: The three-engine Livorsi controls, from left to right, have two gear levers, then the throttles, then the right gear.

Say the name Scarab and speed just naturally comes to mind. That speed is built into the new 352 Tournament offshore center console by Wellcraft, the company that makes Scarabs. This boat will get you to the fish on time.

The 352's Scarab heritage—with more bow flair, longer chines and relocated tabs—makes it an excellent offshore performer. Three 250-hp Evinrude E-Tec outboards turn the 352 into a rocket ship, pushing it over 55 mph. Even more impressive is that at 35 mph this boat gets 1.5 mpg, giving it a 500-mile range. No wonder the Wellcraft Fishing Team campaigns 352s in kingfish tournaments against Contenders, Yellowfins and Jupiters.

Fishing features are impeccably built in from stem to stern: baitwells, storage bins, sink, fresh and saltwater washdowns, tackle trays and cabinets, downrigger ball draws, a multitude of rod holders and huge insulated fish boxes with rod storage capability. Kingfishermen fight fish off the bow, and the 352 allows 360-degree fishability by splitting its forward seats, which also affords space for a massive in-sole storage compartment.

ANGLER'S OPTION: Rigging station's 40-gallon Kodiak baitwell.
The console, which houses the head, has an integrated 60-quart cooler under its forward seat. An aft bench folds away. The T-top, with electronics box and PFD storage, is standard. This is one mean fishing machine that will blast you offshore in record time and in style.
