There’s an O-Ring There?
Regularly check the o-ring on your boat's fuel fill cap to prevent water intrusion.

Most people don't even realize there is an o-ring on most fuel fill caps — until it fails and water finds its way past the seal. Check them regularly — including right before storing the boat. Lube them with a bit of silicone grease now and again, particularly if you're using fuel containing ethanol.
